Sanitation Worker

Performs various tasks associated with cleaning production equipment and general work area. Position may be internal sanitation, which refers to cleaning and maintaining production machinery to ensure product quality and equipment reliability. Or position may be external sanitation, which refers to a variety of cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and use of cleaning devices and agents to sanitize the general work environment. This position may be some combination of both internal and external sanitation duties. This individual must follow all department and company policies and procedures to include but not limited to: Quality and Food Safety Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Maintenance Practices, Safety, and General Work Rules. Principle Responsibilities: Performs various cleaning and organizing duties as assigned Maintains all safety standards Use of cleaning devices and/or chemical agents to sanitize production equipment or environment May operate vehicles such as floor scrubber or forklift in execution of duties Completes and submits required paperwork All other duties as assigned. Basic Job Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Preferred Experience/Skills: Working with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies (for example, using chemicals such as acids, caustics, degreasers, using equipment such as foamers, scrubbers, pressure washers, steam machines, or cleaning stainless, conveyors, etc.) Reading and using standards of operations (for example, understanding and using process, procedure, or workflow documentation) Working with Good Manufacturing Practices GMPs (for example, wearing proper protective equipment, practicing personal hygiene, or obeying safety practices) Preparing documentation (for completing logs detailing completed work assignments) Working with industrial chemicals (for example, using chemicals in a safe way, reading and interpreting labels, or selecting and mixing correct chemicals) Ability and/or experience in operating a forklift Supervisory responsibility: None Physical Effort: This position requires lifting/carrying between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly over a 10-12 hour period as well as lift/carry liquid 5-gallon containers weighing approximately 30-40 pounds repeatedly over a 10-12 hour period. Also requires pulling cleaning equipment, kneeling, climbing, bending, standing and crouching while using cleaning equipment.
