Job Purpose: A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and/or improving manufacturing systems or related processes. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to ensure manufacturing process, equipment, and products align with safety standard and legal regulations. The engineer must have experience using CAD, CAM, and other data analysis programs. The Manufacturing Engineer works within the Drivetrain and Battery Systems All Wheel Drive Engineering matrixed organization in collaboration with the Engineering Manager. Key Responsibilities
Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement Resolving problem resolutions and implementing improvements Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products align with safety standards and legal regulations Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports Build and perform preventative maintenance program Assist in set-up, testing, validation and run of new equipment Build and maintain spare parts list Writes add to stocks to make sure we have the correct spare parts on hand. Actively support any downtime as it pertains to quality issues through troubleshooting and problem solving using different problem-solving applications like 8D, 6 Sigma, etc. Develops/updates the required documents like process sheets, control plans, FMEA's, FPPA, tool sheets, job instructions, etc. Responsible for all process documentation Ongoing support of equipment after full time production to include modifications for efficiency, capability and continuous improvement; Any issues that pertain to safety issues through troubleshooting and problem solving. Provides the proper support to the department to achieve the proper 5S levels Supports all shifts for manufacturing during the week and weekends, if necessary. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice. Controls a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering preferred. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred. Experience evaluating and fixing manufacturing processes and machinery. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organization and leadership skills. Strong analytical problem solve Preferred Requirements
Experience in trouble shooting/diagnosing PLC error codes preferably Siemens. Experience in Robotics, preferably Kuka. Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs and related software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. High level of technical expertise (demonstrated with past examples). What We Believe
