The Leasing Professional is responsible for marketing and leasing apartment homes to prospective residents. The Leasing Professional develops positive relationships with current tenants and addresses their needs in a professional manner. This role requires exceptional customer service, sales and communication skills, as well as an understanding of the rental market, TAM Residential policies and procedures, and Fair Housing Laws. Essential Job Functions Maintain the appearance of the leasing center at all times. Maintain an adequate supply of leasing aids and forms. Use the telephone professionally and effectively for leasing. Greet, show, and lease to qualified prospects. Collect security deposits and application fees from prospects following company policy. Explain every paragraph of the lease contract. Verify new move-in packets following company standards. Understand daily, weekly, and monthly leasing traffic reports. Coordinate move-in dates with the Community Manager. Abide by all Fair Housing Laws. Achieve and maintain an average closing ratio of 50% or better. Maintain working relationships with referral agencies, businesses, and merchants. Monitor competitive properties and know current rental rates. Report to work on time with a neat and professional appearance; be courteous and pleasant to residents and associates at all times. Assist with resident activities and communications. Meet with new residents to ensure satisfaction in their new home and assist in renewing expiring leases within the specified time frame. Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
Clear written and verbal communication. Housing experience is highly preferred. 3+ years of leasing experience preferred. Knowledge of Entrata or similar Property Management Software. Basic computer or typing skills; basic math skills. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
Open work area with moderate everyday noise. Ability to work from multiple locations. Perform other duties as required.
