SUMMARY The Senior Engineering Technician can independently solve design problems and carry out tasks assigned by civil engineers and project managers with minimal supervision. They must be highly proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare technical engineering plans independently. Responsibilities include researching engineering requirements, preparing basic engineering calculations, maintaining company CAD standards, and assisting in report preparation or related tasks as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team. Assists with the design of on-site and off-site improvements under the guidance of senior engineering staff. Develops civil plan sets (grading, drainage, paving) from sketches in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D grading features, terrain modeling, earthworks, corridors, labels, etc. Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D utility pipe networks and modification of utility structures. Determines appropriate scales, layout, and details needed for drawings. Prepares drawings according to company CAD standards and project specifications. Manages personal time effectively to meet project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Minimum 6 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, civil engineering, and land development projects. General knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Internet, etc. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Prolonged sitting (up to 8 hours for office staff). Interaction with technology (computers, cellphones, etc.). Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 lbs. Prolonged standing or walking during field checks. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Occasional travel to offices, job sites, or client meetings.
