Fremont Hospital is looking for a dynamic Nurse Manager! At Fremont Hospital, our Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and Performance & Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit. Primary responsibilities include: Providing supervision to the nursing staff and acting as a resource for hospital policies and procedures. Participating in the facility's Performance Improvement Program. Acting as the patient's advocate and assuring that patient rights are upheld. Acting as a behavioral model of clinical and procedural expertise to other staff members through demonstration, teaching and mutual consultation. Identifying patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Maintaining nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Assurance quality of care by developing and interpreting hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments. Maintaining nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff. Completing patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results. Maintaining nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Establishing a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Providing information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests. Maintaining a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital providing quality care for children through adults. Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management. Experience: Three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR (AED) certification must be obtained prior to the completion of orientation.
