Position SummaryWe are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes to transition new products from R&D to production. This position is primarily geared towards products in low-rate production that consist of high-precision components and/or complex system architectures. This position will also assist in setup and process implementation for transitioning of higher-rate items to the full-scale production team. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in some or all of the following areas:Design of production tooling/fixtures for quality and assembly consistencyDeveloping assembly work instructionsSet up and support of new product linesUse of production travelers for process tracking and traceabilityGeneral knowledge of various fabrication/manufacturing processes such as: CNC machining, sheet metal cutting/forming, injection molding, rotational molding, tube assembly fabricationDFMGD&TSpecific responsibilitiesPlan, design and implement manufacturing and assembly processes for new product developmentWork with design engineers to determine critical-to-function features and determine best methods to ensure quality and reliability while maintaining ease of manufacturing/assemblyReview detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for accuracy and tolerancesDetermine parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specificationsDesign tooling and fixturing for production and quality controlDevelop and optimize process flow and work instructionsSupport low volume production to verify achievement of process plans and targets for quality, safety, efficiency, and cost.Maximize production efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilizationIdentify equipment/resource constraints and opportunities Position RequirementsBS in Mechanical Engineering with GPA not less than 3.3Minimum 3 years' experienceUS Citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulationsMainstream Engineering Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
