Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) involved in the installing, troubleshooting, interrogating, programming/reprogramming, adjusting, testing, modifying, calibrating, and repairing of complex integrated aircraft electrical and environmental systems and equipment on board conventional/nuclear certified aircraft supported by the organization. Additionally, it involves providing training to and evaluation of all assigned personnel, including Active Duty, Reservists, Civilians, Contractors, and foreign military personnel. Duties include: Performing troubleshooting of complex integrated electrical/environmental systems of related on/off equipment for assigned and/or transient aircraft. Installing, inspecting, modifying, repairing, servicing, replacing, adjusting, and overhauling complex integrated electrical/environmental systems, both on and off equipment. Performing final functional and operational tests of complex integrated electrical/environmental systems. Preparing and executing effective training plans to maximize training for all assigned personnel. Utilizing safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations. Requirements include: U.S. Citizenship Required Males must be registered for Selective Service Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance Potential for permanent change of station (PCS) and associated agreements Subject to the DoD Priority Placement Program Subject to random drug testing May be required to work other than normal duty hours Must maintain current certifications Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join Advance in hire may be authorized Recruitment and relocation incentives may be authorized Direct deposit is required AFSC: 2A6X6 Qualifications emphasize the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and include: Knowledge of electronic/electrical theories, principles, circuitry, and practices of complex integrated systems Ability to use and interpret technical data, blueprints, schematics, and engineering instructions Comprehensive knowledge of environmental principles and the ability to recognize and function with various components Skill in testing, troubleshooting techniques, and procedures utilizing various test devices Knowledge of safety and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and technical orders Functional requirements include heavy lifting, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, bending, and operation of special purpose and motor vehicles. Environmental factors involve working in hangar areas, outdoors, in/on aircraft, and sometimes in hazardous noise areas. Exposure to extremes in heat, cold, humidity, and inclement weather, as well as bodily fluids, dirt, grease, and aircraft fluids, is common. Potential exposure to hazardous materials, electrical shocks, RF radiation, explosive hazards, and Low Observable (LO) is also possible. Part-time or unpaid experience and volunteer work experience are credited for appropriate duties and responsibilities.
