L.A.B. Golf
The Demand Planning Manager will oversee the execution and accuracy of L.A.B. Golfs forecasting and inventory planning efforts, ensuring demand signals are actionable and aligned with business needs. This hands-on leadership role will manage a small team of analysts, mentor staff, and serve as a key liaison between Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to drive informed decisions that improve forecast accuracy, maintain inventory balance, and support operational goals. Reporting to the Sr Director or Global Planning, the Demand Planning Manager will focus on day-to-day demand planning activities, including forecasting, inventory monitoring, and participation in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. This individual will lead and develop their team, provide insight to cross-functional partners, and help improve processes that enhance supply chain responsiveness in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with practical leadership experience and thrives in a collaborative, high-growth setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Demand Planning Execution
Support the development and execution of demand forecasts that align with L.A.B. Golfs sales goals, product portfolio, and distribution channels. Maintain and update demand planning processes to support both standard and custom product offerings, including new product launches. Prepare and adjust short and midrange demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales trends, customer insights, and seasonal factors.
Forecast Accuracy and Planning Support
Build and maintain forecast models for new SKUs and product lines in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams. Lead demand planning input into the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing forecast updates, highlighting risks, and ensuring alignment across teams. Monitor demand fluctuations and communicate potential risks or opportunities related to lead times, promotions, or unexpected changes.
Inventory Monitoring and Supply Coordination
Track inventory levels across product categories to balance availability with company goals, escalating risks related to excess or obsolete inventory. Partner with shipping and production teams to communicate demand signals and support purchasing and production planning decisions.
Data, Tools and Reporting
Maintain and improve demand planning tools and reports that integrate ERP (e.g., NetSuite), eCommerce platforms, and sales data. Provide regular reporting on forecast accuracy, inventory health, and other key performance indicators to management.
Leadership and Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of demand planning professionals, providing coaching and growth opportunities. Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear performance expectations. Address performance issues promptly and fairly, including using progressive discipline when needed. Foster a collaborative, highperformance culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to share demand insights and ensure consistent data and assumptions. Clearly communicate forecast changes, risks, and constraints to internal partners to support business agility.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and planning processes. Contribute to the evaluation of new planning tools, methods, or reports that enhance efficiency and responsiveness. Support a culture of collaboration, accountability, and datadriven decisionmaking across the planning function.
Qualifications, Skills And Attributes
Education
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Analytics, or a related field required. Industry certifications in supply chain, demand planning, or forecasting (e.g., APICS, IBF) are a plus.
Experience
46 years of experience in demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably within consumer products, manufacturing, or sporting goods. Prior leadership or supervisory experience, including mentoring, coaching, and performance management. Proven ability to work crossfunctionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to align forecasts with business needs. Experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite), forecasting software, and advanced spreadsheet models. Handson experience supporting product launches, promotions, or seasonal planning cycles.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis; familiarity with integrated planning tools or business intelligence platforms is highly desirable. Solid understanding of demand planning principles, inventory optimization, and supply/demand balancing techniques. Ability to create and maintain forecast accuracy reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support business decisionmaking.
