We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with expertise in QuickBooks Online and a solid grounding in GAAP. This role supports daily accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records in a dynamic asset recovery business.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and record daily financial transactions in
QuickBooks Online (QBO) , ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoices and payment processing. Process vendor invoices, including verifying approvals, coding expenses, and entering them into QBO. Schedule and process payments to vendors via checks, ACH, or wire transfers. Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted. Assist with 1099 preparation and filing for contractors. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and internal reports. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals. Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and recommend improvements. Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with depreciation calculations. Collaborate with the team to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Assist with audits and special projects as needed. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, customers, and other departments. Assist with training and onboarding of new team members or interns. Maintain confidentiality of financial data and uphold ethical standards. Process payroll entries, including salary, bonuses, benefits, and tax withholdings, and ensure proper classification and reconciliation in the general ledger. Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including payroll liabilities, accrued wages, and benefits. Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience:
2+ years of accounting experience, with demonstrated proficiency in
QuickBooks Online . Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite , especially Excel. Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other accounting software is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Skills:
Experience with financial reporting and budget preparation. Familiarity with automation tools such as SaaAnt, Bill.com or Dext. Benefits:
