Our ability to identify great potential investment opportunities starts with our business development team. As such, we are seeking a
Business Development Associate
to support our deal sourcing strategy. In a highly competitive investment landscape, this role is critical in helping Resurgens identify relevant investment opportunities. The Business Development Associate will be responsible for proactively identifying and engaging with executives at software companies that are potential investment opportunities for Resurgens, and dialoguing with market intermediaries who source such opportunities. Working closely under the Head of Business Development, along with our operating team, investment team, and peer associates, she/he will play an integral role in the funds sourcing success. Responsibilities include: Maintaining coverage of thousands of software companies fitting Resurgens profile. Utilizing technology-based tools to aggregate and analyze information. Defining and mapping specific software segments through research, and identifying and qualifying new potential investments within these segments. Prospecting via email, LinkedIn, phone, and other mediums to engage company leaders. Rapid assessment of investment opportunities. Partnering with investment/operations professionals & portfolio companies to identify companies of interest, especially regarding add-on acquisitions. Building relationships with industry participants to access decision makers and key contacts. Supporting the investment team during live due diligence with market research and interviews with industry experts. Ideal candidate qualities: Ambitious, competitive, organized, with a strong sense of ownership and drive. High self-motivation, intellectual curiosity, and process orientation. Ability to interact at the executive level and possess both business and technical understanding of software industries. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strategic thinking about business, product, and technology challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. Requirements: 1-3 years of relevant experience (e.g., PE/VC, IB, consulting, software sales, recruiting, business development). Ambitious, dynamic, goal-oriented, able to work independently. Data-driven mindset for continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills and a sales-oriented approach. High intellectual horsepower and curiosity. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM and marketing tools is a plus. Outstanding academic and professional record. Bachelors degree (BS/BA).
