Construction Project Engineer

My client is a well-established, reputable General Contractor in Chicago who performs work nationally. They specialize in corporate/office interiors, life-science and healthcare projects, performing over $600M annually with Chicago making up roughly $100M. Due to continued growth and a strong project backlog, they are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Project Engineer to join the team. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work Interpret and review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals Track and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of project milestones Support procurement and material tracking Conduct job site visits to monitor quality, progress, and compliance with plans and safety standards Document daily construction activities, meeting notes, and progress reports Help manage project closeout procedures including punch lists and as-builts Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to resolve field issues Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field 1+ years experience as a Project Engineer with a GC Proficiency in construction management software Job Offer $70,000 - $90,000 base salary Bonus opportunity Health, dental, vision insurance 401K PTO
