Job Description The Education Coordinator supports the academic and vocational development of Mission Academy students by coordinating academic support, tutoring, and educational enrichment with Mission Academys semester-based learning model. This role ensures students are equipped to pursue higher education, vocational training, or certification programs as part of their recovery journey. The coordinator works closely with facilitators, volunteers, and external partners to deliver a Christ-centered, trauma-informed learning experience. Responsibilities Coordinate academic support services, tutoring sessions, and educational enrichment activities aligned with Mission Academys semester-based learning model. Collaborate with the Job Readiness Coordinator to ensure seamless transitions from education to employment preparation. Facilitate access to community college, trade school, and certificate programs through partnerships. Provide life-skills training in areas such as time management, stress management, and healthy communication. Support students in setting and tracking educational goals as part of their individualized recovery plans. Maintain and enhance the Mission Tracker system to monitor academic progress and generate outcome reports. Support and participate in ministry-wide activities and chapels as applicable. Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold trauma-informed practices and ensure client dignity.
Qualifications
Education: Minimum: Associates Degree or equivalent experience Preferred: Bachelors in Education, Human Services, Theology, or related field
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in adult education, academic support, or vocation training Experience working with individuals facing homelessness, trauma, or addiction preferred
Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal, coaching, and administrative skills Ability to motivate and empower individuals in a faith-based recovery setting Proficient in Microsoft Office and educational tracking tools
