As Principal Technical Architect, Site Reliability Engineering, you will be responsible for building a purposeful, proactive, and sustainable approach to reliability based on SRE principles. You will collaborate with support teams, architects, developers, and stakeholders to develop tools, guidance, and drive adoption of reliability practices for large-scale, mission-critical services. Your deep SRE expertise will enable you to engage in strategic discussions with senior leaders and play a key role in establishing Schwab's SRE practice. Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of reliability engineering practices across teams. Partner with support, development, and business teams to develop, measure, and leverage SLOs. Design and implement resilient, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems. Develop scripts and tools to automate operational tasks and improve efficiency. Conduct resilience and chaos engineering exercises to improve system robustness. Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of reliability and learning. Document best practices, incident response procedures, and operational workflows. Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in SRE roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or architect position. Experience designing highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems. Deep knowledge of resilience patterns and deployment strategies. Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog). Experience with scripting and automation to reduce operational toil. Strong communication skills for presenting findings and leading training sessions. Preferred Skills

Advocate for SRE practices across the organization. Expertise in service level objectives and telemetry improvements. Experience leading complex incident management and postmortem analyses. Ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Benefits & Culture
