Responsibilities
Architect and design robust data center networking solutions based on business technology requirements and data network standards, with a primary focus on Arista technologies. Develop comprehensive technology designs for the Arista fabric, ensuring alignment with functional and non-functional requirements. Oversee and guide the implementation of these designs, ensuring proper functionality and providing expert technical consultation throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate effectively with line-of-business and business technology teams to understand project needs and translate them into innovative and practical network solutions. Serve as a technical escalation point for high-severity production incidents and problem tickets related to data network redesign efforts. Optimize network designs to meet critical business objectives related to cost, reliability, and performance. Articulate complex technical designs clearly and concisely to diverse technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to the growth of the team by assisting in the training and mentoring of junior associates. Proactively engage with program management and product engineering teams to identify and drive process and application improvements. Maintain and update system documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance. Provide valuable feedback to product teams regarding standard product offerings and advocate for necessary catalog enhancements based on business requirements.
Qualifications
Comprehensive end-to-end knowledge of data center technical environments. Demonstrated history of working in or supporting data center network infrastructure for large enterprises or carriers. Minimum of 7 years of experience architecting or designing network solutions, with significant experience in switching equipment. Thorough understanding of current and emerging trends in data center networking, including virtualization, TRILL/Fabric Path, blade technologies, GRID computing, low-latency switching, and Software Defined Networking (SDN). In-depth understanding of switching/routing product families and their functionalities. Proven ability to translate business requirements into effective technical designs for implementation.
Skills
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to assist in resolving complex issues under pressure. Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with individuals at all levels, from technical implementers to senior management. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures, coupled with a willingness to train others. Strong hands-on experience with Arista fabric design and implementation, including features within EOS and leveraging CloudVision (CVP) for provisioning and automation. Solid understanding and practical experience with Cisco VxLAN design and implementation. Hands-on experience with migrating from Cisco to Arista environments. Strong overall expertise in data center technologies.
