OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Electrical/Design Engineer - Aviation Hardware in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing moderately complex electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and products. Essential FunctionsProficiently use troubleshooting and general EE tools (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, schematic design and PCB layout programs, etc.)May perform as a technical leader or Project Engineer for small projects or sub projects as part of a greater project, following established proceduresDesign test boards and circuit modifications to test design improvementsSource and analyze appropriate components to meet electrical engineering design needsTest circuits designed by other engineers and document the test resultsFind technical root cause and suggest corrective action for given problemsWork with the factory team to understand design impacts on manufacturabilityEstimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments and suggestions on some electrical design aspects in design reviews Basic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Demonstrated ability with application of design standards and procedures to design and develop moderately complex analog, digital and/or RF designs including simulations, schematics, PCB layouts and evaluationDemonstrated ability with electrical engineering toolsDemonstrated knowledge of design impacts on manufacturabilityDesired QualificationsOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Desire experience with sensors for inertial and/or air data productsGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
