Laboratory Technician
This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool. Duties And Responsibilities:
Maintain an inventory of required laboratory supplies for specific courses by communicating with the Instructors and placing orders as needed through the Liberal Arts Administrative Assistant Cleaning, organizing, and proper disposal of materials and biohazardous waste in the lab Prepare Microbiology media for BIOL 251, and BIOL 190 as needed. Maintain cultures for microbiology, including ensuring fresh cultures are ready for each lab in coordination with the instructor Setting up the laboratory for each class exercise, including organization and distribution of equipment, supplies, and handouts Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Biology or closely related field (Equivalent experience can be substituted for an Associate's degree) Able to work independently with little to no supervision Able to communicate effectively with faculty and staff Compensation:
$17.20 per hour Exempt:
No Full-Time Equivalent:
