Senior Food Scientist

for our frozen meals group to join our

Asian Food R & D team in Fullerton, CA . In this role, you will primarily work on our frozen Asian foods brand portfolio focusing on new product development, innovation, and product improvement in the retail and food service markets. Additionally, projects will include finding efficiencies and synergies in materials, evaluating ingredient alternatives, optimizing formulas, and enhancing ingredient functionality. As part of the Asian Products R&D Team, you will be a significant contributor to launching new products within established frozen meal platforms. Responsibilities: Performing bench work to find creative solutions, conducting plant trials, trend & technology research, and communicating findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners. Designing and conducting plant trials and new product start-ups. Sourcing ingredient alternatives, optimizing formulas, and enhancing ingredient functionality for cost savings and product improvement. Conceptualizing and developing new product prototypes for multiple concurrent projects. Creating & adhering to product development schedules to meet project timelines. Handling product cuttings, testing, and other duties as assigned. Identifying new trends, technologies, and processes to further advance our team. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in food science or related field; Masters degree preferred. 5+ years of relevant work experience in food product design, formulation, ingredient functionality and interaction, process design, product scale-up, plant testing, and commercialization; previous R&D experience in Frozen, Meals, and/or Sauces is highly preferred. Good understanding of fundamental principles of food science and technology, along with standard food microbiology, lab best practices, and procedures. Knowledge of food industry standards of quality and food safety, GMPs, HACCP, food labeling, and FDA/USDA regulations. General culinary knowledge and passion for global food is beneficial. Compensation and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $73,500 to $122,500 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The pay range considers factors like education, skills, work experience, certifications, and geography. Starting pay could fall anywhere within this range.
