Hourly Rate: $20 per hour Position Summary: Youth Developer is responsible for providing direct supervision, instruction, homework help, social and emotional support and recreational activities to program participants attending the after school program. Responsibilities include: Provide individual and group tutoring in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills to students in an elementary school after-school based program. Provide strong classroom and behavioral management skills. Implement professionally developed literacy-based curriculum. Work to develop relationships with children and their families. Design, plan, and lead implementation of special projects. Be punctual, responsible, positive in attitude, and provide encouragement to all children. Teach, supervise, and organize games. Assisting in any activities needed for the orderly operation of the program: supervising children during supper, ensuring equipment is properly signed out and that all equipment is properly cleaned and returned. Attend regular staff meetings and trainings and work cooperatively with other staff members in the program. Supervise the Assistant Youth Developer. Attend and supervise children during special projects and field trips (including some weekends and evenings).
