This position will be approximately 50 percent allocated to HDRs corporate Engineering Master Specifications System (MSS) and 50 percent on specific tasks or work in the Water Business Group. The role involves developing construction specifications, including general requirements (Division 01) and technical specifications (Divisions 02 through 48) for the Engineering MSS, a system of more than 500 master specifications. Some direct project work may be required, including developing project specifications or engineering project work. Base pay range: $76,661.00/yr - $130,375.00/yr. Assist the Engineering National Specifications Manager in maintaining, updating, and developing master specification content. Collaborate with technical specialists from various business groups to develop and drive master specification content and updates. Work with project teams to develop specifications and other construction documents for direct projects. Provide guidance on specification and contract document development. Coordinate with Alternative and Integrated Delivery and Owners Advisor (AO) groups regarding specification development and resources in these contracting environments. Provide education to staff about best practices, products, and specifications. Coordinate with business group Professional Services Directors on prioritization and progress of technical specification development. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in water/wastewater/water resources, environmental, civil, or structural engineering. Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. CSI Certified Construction Specifier (CCS), Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA), or Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification. Familiarity with CSI organizational formats, EJCDC standard contract documents, and other standard contract writing organizations (AIA, DBIA). Minimum 10 years of experience with specifications, design, and construction. Experience with construction contract administration, including claims resolution. Familiarity with specifications management software (e.g., Chalkline VisiSpecs) and Microsoft SharePoint. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years of experience working with specifications. Ability to recommend materials, procedures, and technical specifications requirements and contents. Experience with Microsoft Office. Active participation in HDRs employee-owned culture.
