Packout Team Member
The Packout Team Member is responsible for efficiently checking and preparing finished products that are being shipped to bulk fulfillment centers to meet production objectives. Essential functions include performing fulfillment duties, adhering to safety and equipment operation guidelines, achieving and maintaining equipment certification status, properly checking products ensuring products, material, and packaging meet standards, packing products into shipping boxes according to shipping guidelines, printing labels and labeling all products prepared to ship with corresponding labels for assigned fulfillment center, creating shipping plans for shipments going to bulk fulfillment centers, organizing completed orders based on due date, priority, and shipping carriers, maintaining or exceeding established goal completion rates, documenting work completed for the day on output sheets, reliable onsite attendance, cross-training on equipment and workstations as designated, floating between assignments to meet business needs, ensuring finished product meets quality specifications, actively participating in department meetings, maintaining a clean and neat workstation, and assisting junior team members as needed and/or assigned. Skills and qualifications include familiarity with company product catalog, versatility, capacity to learn and maintain machine knowledge in various production cells, adaptability to an ever-changing environment, ability to balance a high sense of urgency production mindset with quality-driven results, strong attention to detail using skills such as counting, reading, and color comparing, good verbal and written communicator, positive attitude, and intermediate level of comfort with computers. Basic understanding of production practices is required. Required education and experience include a high school diploma or equivalent. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role. Days and hours of work are primarily scheduled to the team member's assigned shift, but the position requires flexibility to work alternate shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. Travel is limited to local during the business day between Big Dot and/or Middle Dot. Other duties may change at any time with or without notice. This role routinely uses shipping materials and equipment including, but not limited to, label printers, scale, box cutters, and shrink wrapper. This role occasionally uses production and standard office equipment and materials. Specific converting equipment includes, but is not limited to, die-cut, Duplo cutter, rotary cutter, button press, tabber, Kongsberg digital cutting table, and sublimation press. Physical demands include standing/working on feet for prolonged periods of time, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls including repetitive motion tasks, occasionally sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen, climbing stairs, talking or hearing, visual awareness to operate machines and assemble product per instructions, reaching with hands and arms, bending, twisting, lifting, pulling or moving objects, products, and supplies up to 50 pounds.
