Position Overview
T1 Energy is seeking a dedicated and experienced
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Director
to lead and oversee all EHS functions at our Wilmer, TX facility. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations while cultivating a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in hazard identification, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Partner with the General Manager and Engineering team to identify, assess, and mitigate environmental and occupational hazards across all operational areas. Lead daily safety inspections and EHS audits; oversee the resolution and follow-up of identified issues. Facilitate safety meetings, trainings, and awareness activities to promote a proactive safety culture. Oversee the fire protection systems, emergency equipment, and critical facility safety infrastructure to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance. Manage the safety protocols and regulatory compliance for hazardous chemicals, including storage, handling, and documentation. Approve hazardous operations and enforce appropriate use of PPE, particularly in high-risk and specialized roles. Direct the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of
ISO 14001
and
OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001)
systems, including conducting management reviews and supporting external audits. Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions. Ensure compliance and oversight of contractor safety programs and cross-functional operations on-site. Supervise daily emergency preparedness and participate in routine and special fire prevention inspections. Lead emergency response coordination and serve as a key point of contact during crises or safety events. Support continuous improvement in safety performance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Perform other EHS leadership duties as assigned by executive management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors degree or higher in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, Fire Protection, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum
5 years or more of progressive EHS leadership experience
in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or photovoltaic industry preferred. Professional certifications such as:
CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus Safety Administrator Hazardous Chemicals Keeper Fire Protection Specialist ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditor CAD Work License (preferred)
In-depth knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations, hazardous materials management, and emergency response protocols. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence across all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and lead EHS programs with independence and accountability. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and organizational skills.
