Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications. Build new features and improve existing products. Work on problems of moderate scope. Push code, drive the development of the systems behind our products. Create web applications that reach billions of people. Build high volume servers. Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems. Demonstrate proficiency in machine language, data analysis, programming and software engineering. Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks. Follow internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity. Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or in a related field. Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving the following: Debug programs Apply abstract mathematical and scientific concepts such as cryptography to enforce security properties Optimize for the memory hierarchy and take advantage of special instruction sets Write parallel code for multicore, many-core, and cluster platforms Machine learning with a special focus on engineering applications Build a secure browsing environment and analyze the security properties of a browsing environment Scalable distributed systems and programming frameworks enabling the widespread adoption of cloud computing Navigate and use the Java API documentation while writing programs Object-Oriented Programming, functions, loops, and arrays mainly in Java $181,274/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
