Eli Lilly and Company seeks a Sr. Principal Engineer-Data (R4-R5) to engage in technical leadership within Lilly Research Labs. Ensure technical designs align with architecture guidance and adhering to data platform standards. Grow and maintain knowledge of advanced technology and analytics trends within the organization and across the industry externally. Assist the team in the impact analysis to translate and implement technical design (configuration/development and data integration). Use skills and experience to influence solution direction and future releases. Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior developers on the best practices, standards, and methodologies of software engineering. Responsibilities Engage in technical leadership within Lilly Research Labs; ensure designs align with architecture guidance and data platform standards. Grow and maintain knowledge of advanced technology and analytics trends within the organization and industry externally. Assist the team in impact analysis to translate and implement technical design (configuration/development and data integration). Influence solution direction and future releases through your skills and experience. Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior developers on best practices, standards, and methodologies of software engineering.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience with the software development life cycle, from project initiation to deployment, support, and retirement. At least 5 years of experience developing technology solutions for a business area, with emphasis on technical/data/application development and implementation. At least 5 years of experience with AWS Compute & Data Technologies (including Lambda, RDS, Glue, API Gateway, Athena, IAM, CloudFormation) and implementing those services in a regulated environment. At least 5 years of experience with development and analysis languages including Python, Node.js, PL/SQL, Java, and RESTful Web Services. At least 5 years of experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. Part-time telecommuting may be permitted. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required.
