Overview: A leading biotech company is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to join their team. This role involves analyzing large-scale biological datasets, developing computational models, and contributing to research that advances scientific and clinical initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, data scientists, and software engineers, to develop innovative bioinformatics solutions that support drug discovery, precision medicine, or disease research.
Responsibilities: Develop and optimize computational pipelines for processing and analyzing high-throughput biological data such as NGS, proteomics, or transcriptomics Apply machine learning, statistical models, and bioinformatics tools to extract meaningful biological insights Integrate multi-omics datasets to support biomarker discovery and drug development Design and implement custom algorithms for data mining, sequence analysis, and structural bioinformatics Collaborate with R&D teams to validate findings and support experimental research Maintain and enhance bioinformatics databases, workflows, and software tools Present research findings through reports, scientific publications, and internal meetings
Qualifications: PhD or Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field Strong experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl for data analysis and algorithm development Expertise in analyzing NGS or other high-throughput biological data Familiarity with bioinformatics tools, databases, and pipelines such as GATK, Bowtie, or BLAST Experience with machine learning techniques applied to biological data is a plus Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings to cross-functional teams
