www.diageo.com . The Diageo Montgomery facility is a site in North American Supply. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for instrumentation and electrical support and for the effectiveness of the DCS system and process controls for multiple lines and liquid processing. This person is a key member of the Asset Care Team and reporting directly to the Asset Care Director. The successful candidate will be expected to work on shift pattern schedule. The ability to work in highly effective teams is crucial for success in this role. As a self-motivated member of the Asset Care Team, you will provide support, training and coaching to your fellow team members, positively impacting team members, inspiring and engaging others. Responsible for your own safety as well as the safety of your co-workers and all site visitors, you will actively participate in all site safety, health and environmental programs. You will need to maintain a current knowledge of, and align with, all health safety and environmental rules and regulations. Familiarity with various permit to works including hot work permits, safe work permits and following safety rules and regulations such as lockout-tagout. Strong PLC experience to be able to resolve code within the Allen Bradley control system environment. Timely and accurate repair of facility instrumentation, controls, and electrical circuits. Troubleshooting, inspecting, diagnosing, testing, and adjusting digital, pneumatic, and manual instrumentation, as well as tuning, and optimizing control loops. Regularly works with bottling line equipment such as fillers, labelers, coding systems, inspection systems, palletizers, etc. Performs knowledge transfer activities in partnership with Maintenance Team Members. Actively participating in multi-functional work teams. Ability to quickly learn and understand liquid processing (batch and continuous) systems. Familiar with root cause problem solving methods and documentation. Skilled in reading functional specs, loop diagrams, P&ID drawings, and logic diagrams. Finding solutions to bottling and processing problems. Identifying and implementing improvements projects to drive productivity and minimize waste. Contributes to development and implementation of I&E preventative maintenance program. Technical Degree or Certificate relevant to Controls Systems Engineering or the equivalent combination of education and technical work experience is required. Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs. Relevant instrumentation and electrical maintenance experience. Familiar with current electrical regulations, codes and safe work practices. Working knowledge of Allen Bradley VFDs and Servo drive components. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment is required. Experience in Packaging/Bottling is preferred. Familiar with Industrial Control Networks (ex. Ethernet, Profibus, Remote I/O, DH+ Control Net). Demonstrated capability to problem solve and calibrate Process Instrumentation. Must be able to read and comprehend electrical and instrumentation drawings. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-functional team environment. Strong problem solving and written/verbal communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to safety.
