POSITION SUMMARY
A Facilities 2 Worker performs various maintenance, construction, or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of campus facilities in repair, and does related work as required.
Reports to : Facilities Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assess, maintain, and repair grounds, facilities, and school equipment Perform and/or assist with carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, carpet and tile installation, locksmithing, welding, and other trades Perform and/or assists in the installation, repair, and replacement of school equipment Use a variety of hand and power tools, and operate machinery Install, repair, and remove fixtures, furniture, and facility features Repair lockers, chairs, tables, benches, and classroom furniture, repair, and patch the roof Lift and move furniture and equipment Construct, fabricate, assemble, install, repair, or replace doors, walls, furniture, ceiling tiles, floors, and other related items Maintain records of work performed and materials used Drive a school vehicle to and from work sites/vendors/suppliers Load and unload trucks; transport lifts carry tools, equipment, and supplies; may work independently or with a crew Maintain a clean work area at all times, regardless of work location ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Support Facilities 1 Workers by assisting with the following duties
Assists in playing field preparation Assists in special event preparation Perform general grounds repair and maintenance work Mix and apply weed control chemicals Inspect grounds for fire, sanitary, and safety hazards and report discrepancies Responsible for keeping grounds clean Vacuum, sweep, scrub, and mop floors Clean and dust walls, furniture, chairs, desks, tables, and other equipment Clean solar panels Empty and clean trash receptacles Clean school grounds, restrooms, and other areas of the facility. Report maintenance repairs
All other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS

Experience
Two years of general construction and/or maintenance repair experience in one or more of the building trades, or completion of an approved apprenticeship program in one of the building trades, or, any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the competencies necessary to perform the essential functions

Cleared Background/Fingerprint check Valid CPR certifications Cleared TB Risk Assessment Ministry Safe Training Valid California Driver's License KEY COMPETENCIES
Knowledge
Thorough knowledge of methods, practices, equipment, and tools used in repair work in the building trades, such as glazing, hardware, carpentry, painting, concrete, plumbing, electrical, welding, and mechanical repairs; Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, materials, and terms used in the building trades, safe working methods, and procedures. Skills and Abilities
Performs repairs using the appropriate tools or equipment Performs routine maintenance and determines appropriate maintenance needed Determines causes of errors and defects and determines the course of action Uses critical thinking and problem solving to identify problems Solutions, options, and implementation Ability to use hand and power tools and some shop equipment with skill and safety Read and interpret repair requests, working drawings, plans, and simple blueprints Follow oral and written directions Handle a variety of work orders and complete work on schedule Maintain effective working relationships, drive cart, car or truck PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
