Litigation Paralegal Opportunity
A well-established legal firm in Downtown Baton Rouge is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join the team. Qualified applicants will have at least 5+ years of litigation experience in a mid to large size law firm. This is a full time, direct hire position with pay starting in the range of $55,000-$70,000 per year, based on experience with flexibility for exceptional experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with the discovery process, including preparing for deposition, propounding and responding to written discovery and preparing for expert discovery. Oversees and conducts document reviews; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; tracks and reports on review progress and results. Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents Assists with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars and communicating effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff. Maintains timely and accurate timekeeping records. Organize relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation Prepare for, and attend, depositions Other duties include, but are not limited to, calculating and calendaring deadlines Requirements: 2+ years of substantive litigation experience with comprehensive knowledge of all phases of trial (defense side experience preferred) Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Paralegal certificate from an ABA certified paralegal program preferred Excellent organizational ability and demonstrated ability to manage competing demands with great attention to detail Knowledge of state and federal rules Proficient in MS Office Suite, e-discovery and litigation support tools (such as Relativity), document management systems and ability to learn new systems quickly Advanced written and verbal communication skills Excellent analytical and organizational abilities required to manage multiple projects Highly motivated with attention to detail Interested and qualified candidates for this opening should APPLY NOW!
