When filled Details: Career-line Faculty Position Rank Dependent on Qualifications The University of Utah College of Nursing (CON) seeks a full-time (1.0 FTE) experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to serve as a career-line faculty member to teach acute care nursing (clinical and didactic) in the baccalaureate (BS) program. Principal Functions and Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities are within the prelicensure and/or RN-BS tracks. Specific expectations include supervising prelicensure students in acute care clinical settings 2 days/week and teaching related didactic content specific to clinical management and/or pathophysiology in classroom and/or online settings. Facilitating simulation-based instruction may also be expected. Additional teaching assignments will depend upon the candidates highest earned nursing degree, teaching experience, clinical background, certifications, and teaching needs within the College. Faculty will be expected to contribute to program development, write or revise curriculum, serve on college committees, and participate in professional activities/service. Development of clinically focused scholarship is expected for reappointment and academic promotion. Criteria:

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited college or school of nursing and hold a current Utah RN or APRN license or be qualified for licensure in the State of Utah. Utah is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Applicants must have received at least a Masters degree in either Nursing or a health-related field. Applicants with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree or enrollment in a PhD or DNP program will also be considered. Teaching experience in classroom, clinical, and simulation settings is preferred. Relevant health care experience, evidence of established clinical expertise, and strong organizational and communication skills are required. Clinical expertise in acute care nursing is also required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients and other members of the health care and academic team are essential. Applicants must be willing to reside in the state of Utah, work on-site at the College of Nursing, and provide direct supervision of baccalaureate students at health care facilities in the Salt Lake Valley.
