Job DetailsJob LocationPryer Aerospace Tulsa - Tulsa, OKDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised parts and/or components. Utilizes extensive fabrication expertise to provide cost-effective, new part/component engineering design review, manufacturing methods determination, tooling design review, accurate use of material (in accordance with customer specifications) and quality standards by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Analyzes customer specifications to ensure finite details are discovered during the planning phase to determine feasibility, cost, and production timetablePerforms research, design and development of manufacturing processingConfers with other departments regarding product customer specifications, design and/or tooling issues to ensure efficient production methodsRecommends design change to meet customer requirementsCoordinates with customer regarding design change requests and/or drawing releases. Makes detailed written recommendations to appropriate members of management team regarding any revisions that should occur to the document(s) and follows up on those recommendations to seek approval and/or revision of recommendations in a timely mannerWorks with contract review and project managers to ensure contract is consistent with final quote and purchase order. Revisions may also be required following Manufacturing Engineer's detailed analysis of customer specifications, methods of manufacture, materials, timetable, etc. Revisions to the contract may be cost, longer production times being required, etcSends recommend revisions to appropriate members of management teamCoordinates with other departments regarding proper router configuration (work force utilization, workflow, equipment and workspace) as well as scheduling methodologyEnsures efficient production methods of fabricated parts Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency and acts as technical expert for the company Works with customers to define and document requirements, problems and/or addresses technical concernProvides technical assistance and/or training of fabrication methods or customer specifications to operations personnel during prove-out and runoff of a customer's part or component. Evaluates and solves fabrication problems. Tests ability of machines to perform designated tasks to ensure proper manufacturing methods are used. Works with quality to review and monitor quality issues during manufacturing launch for new or revised parts and/or components. Responsible for entire product life cycle. Responsible for the facilitation and resolution of all CARs (Corrective Action Reports), either through engineering or any other applicable department with responsibility in resolution.QualificationsEDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.EXPERIENCE: Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques, Foreign Object Damage Awareness, ISO 9001, NADCAP, material selection and application; tooling design and/or fixturingAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills is requiredExperience utilizing mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometryAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.COMPUTER SKILLS: Experience utilizing Database software; Design software (CAD); Internet software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
