The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in managing daily operations of the Engineering department, overseeing broadcast technology, equipment, and workflow, especially in a live news environment. Responsibilities include managing technical staff, monitoring broadcast channels, overseeing IT systems, maintaining transmitters and automation, troubleshooting, budgeting, and ensuring FCC and OSHA compliance. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, broadcast engineering, IT, or related field; minimum 5 years in broadcast engineering with supervisory experience; proficiency with RF, video/audio systems, automation, IT networking; strong IT skills; knowledge of FCC regulations; experience with IP streaming; flexible hours; leadership and communication skills; ability to support 24/7 operations.
