Responsibilities
Staging, loading and shipping of prepared mailings to guarantee proper quality and compliance with Company policy and USPS requirements. Unload trucks of incoming material. Operate powered industrial equipment safely. Load trucks with finished goods following trailer sheets and the transportation managers directions. Post all raw materials in and out of the warehouse on the computerized tracking system. Fulfills the duties of a Logistics Technician 1 as required. Forklift Operations: Perform shipping scheduling and manage daily work assignments to prioritize loads and ensure accuracy for shipment to USPS. Weigh as required and place raw materials in proper locations. Follow all company guidelines. Unload trucks with raw materials in a timely and cost-effective manner. Coordinate the daily work routine of shipping operations, including procedure compliance and material handling priorities. Use company equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure deliveries are made in accordance with contract terms. Provide accurate route delivery information and address issues with independent contract carriers as needed. Organizational: Work closely with machine leads and site supervision to manage raw materials for continuous production of finished products. Use the Oracle Transportation system to generate required shipping and postal documentation. Maintain PPE components to comply with Postal regulations in shipping standard mail. Provide material handlers with PIC lists identifying locations of stored client material and available storage locations. Monitor warehouse raw material storage areas and take action to maintain organization. Assist in locating excess material identified by the Client Services Department. Ensure disposition of client copy when information is received. Notify appropriate personnel of significant variances in client copy as needed. Administrative: Enter receiving information into computer systems and prepare reports. Maintain good housekeeping, handle paper waste and debris, and remove safety hazards. Perform complete physical inventories of material as required by procedures and prepare reports. Build rapport with postal personnel. Provide orientation to new employees, including safety practices training. Monitor the quality of technician reports, including piece weights and weight verification calculations. Investigate issues detected in these reports or other receiving documents. Respond to inquiries from other departments regarding receipt of information on a priority basis. Train and support new and existing team members. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED (Required); Associates degree (Preferred) Experience : 1-3 years related experience required Certifications : Powered Industrial Truck Certification (Required) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Knowledge of USPS shipping requirements and company transportation, production & receiving procedures; attention to detail; ability to speak and communicate effectively in English (preferred)
Salary and Benefits
The rate of pay for this role at the noted RRD location is $18.25/hour. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
