Position Summary
The
Business Office Assistant
will be responsible for assisting the Business Office Manager and accounting team with daily financial and administrative tasks. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with CMS regulations, and supporting the smooth operation of the facility's business office. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accordance with established accounting procedures. Assist with day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Prepare quarterly accounts of resident funds managed by the facility, including calculation of any interest accrued. Provide discharged residents with accrued interest and ensure checks are issued within 30 days, as required by CMS guidelines. Maintain a well-organized filing system for purchase orders, packing slips, and other financial records. Support the Business Office Manager with additional administrative and financial tasks as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred. Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or healthcare business office setting preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic knowledge of accounting procedures and CMS regulations a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and resident information.
