FirstService Residential Description Job Overview:

As a Benefits Specialist youre responsible for supporting the administration of the benefits programs, maintenance of all benefit records and files, providing superior customer service, addressing escalated requests, processing documentation, payroll and benefit auditing. This position will also provide support with plan implementation, open enrollment, leave of absences, and compliance filing.

Your Responsibilities:

Work with vendor partners to coordinate events and resources that support the health and wellness initiatives of the organization. Supports the administration of the leave of absence program and assists with employee requests. Assist with annual compliance activities such as ACA reporting, 401(k) nondiscrimination testing, 401(k) audit and open enrollment in collaboration with the Benefits Manager. Performs routine data and payroll auditsboth pre- and post-processingto ensure accurate eligibility management and payroll deductions, while proactively identifying gaps or issues in file interface transmissions. Delivers administrative and technical support, ensuring timely follow-through on initiatives led by the Benefits Manager. Coordinates new client on-boarding activities and client contract update workflows. Collaborates with the Benefits Manager to coordinate initiatives involving change management and strategic communication planning. Handles QMCSO, QDRO, Medicare and Medicaid transactions, including communication with employees and government agencies or legal representatives. Other duties as required. Skills & Qualifications:

3 years of experience administering benefits for a large employer. Hands-on benefits work experience. Requires a thorough understanding of the following employee benefits: life, AD&D, disability, medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, accident, hospital, critical illness, prepaid legal, identity theft, and 401(k) plans. Experience with FMLA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, IRS 125. Skilled in written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees. Competency in multiple software programs and self-sufficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. A strong team player with the ability to enforce the Companys policies and procedures. Ability to lift 10-15 lbs. What We Offer:
