Room Service Associate
Responsible for serving meals to patients in a professional and efficient manner. Works on assigned patient unit(s), and provides services that include, but not limited to, assisting patients in making meal selections, assembling, delivering, and picking-up meal trays, as well as fulfilling special requests, and needs, throughout the shift. They are the main representative of the Food and Nutrition Services Department to our patients, helping to create a culture of comfort, and compassion in all that they do. Job Duties: Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations. Demonstrates knowledge of all therapeutic diets and the proper foods and condiments served with the particular diets. Gives all patients an opportunity to order their meals including calling isolation patients for their selections. Interacts with nursing to ensure patients' diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients' food needs are met. Offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
