Role Overview

As a key member of our aviation team in Minneapolis, MN, the

Airport Civil Engineer

will play a crucial role in the design and construction administration of airport-related projects. Responsibilities include: Designing Aviation Engineering Projects : Leading and contributing to the design of various aviation projects. Analyzing and Preparing Reports : Analyzing data and preparing detailed engineering design reports, specifications, and construction cost estimates. Client Interactions : Assisting with interactions and communications with aviation clients to ensure their needs are met. QA/QC Tasks : Performing quality assurance and quality control tasks to maintain high standards. Project Management Support : Assisting with project management tasks, providing support to ensure project milestones are met. Onsite Engineering : Serving as the onsite project engineer during construction projects. Regulatory Compliance : Reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to inform project designs. A valid driver's license and some travel will be required, enabling direct engagement with project sites and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Transportation from an accredited institution. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a preference for those holding or pursuing a PE license. EIT certification required. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience in heavy civil transportation and/or aviation design is highly desirable. Why Mead & Hunt?
