Overview
Associate Dean, Mathematics at Cuyahoga Community College. This role provides leadership and administrative management to Mathematics at the assigned campus(es) and supports collegewide and campus strategic initiatives related to Mathematic disciplines. Responsibilities
Provides leadership and management for Mathematic disciplines at the assigned campus to implement the academic and student success vision of the School Dean and Dean of Academic Success Coordinates with the School Dean, collegewide counterparts and the Dean of Academic Success to ensure students access to courses and provide campus support for faculty Develops, reviews, and evaluates the academic strategic plans, curriculum, programs, course schedules and budgets Recruits, selects, supervises and evaluates full-time faculty and departmental staff; manages adjunct faculty hiring and evaluation in collaboration with faculty coordinators Recruits, selects, supervises and evaluates Program Directors and staff Strengthens the pipeline from secondary to postsecondary education and experiential opportunities that increase students workforce readiness, degree and certificate completion Coordinates with Enrollment Management and other departments to manage student recruitment, retention and completion, and monitor progress indicators for students Monitors faculty evaluations, course completions, student feedback, withdrawal surveys and other data to promote continuous improvement Collaborates with Student Affairs to address student concerns Works with the Dean of Academic Success to coordinate academic services and co-curricular activities Collaborates with the Curriculum Office to ensure standards, principles, and rules of the Higher Learning Commission are addressed in curricular/program development and student learning outcomes Identifies grant opportunities to increase experiential, research and co-op experiences for students Collaborates with academic area team members as part of the campus-based academic leadership team to keep programs current Ensures communication of plans, activities and expectations for faculty and staff at various levels Collaborates with counterparts and the School Dean to ensure program reviews, curricula and assessment plans and accreditation requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner Participates in Deans Council and other campus/collegewide committees Serves on the campus leadership team and assists with campus-based projects and initiatives Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications
Education and Experience/Training Masters degree in a related field Significant related experience may substitute for education Minimum of six years of successful and progressive full-time experience related to the field within a college or industry setting Demonstrated teaching experience at the college level Demonstrated related general experience including: planning, scheduling, supervising, budget management, and decision-making with broad implications for a division Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of Higher Education leadership theories and practices Knowledge of pedagogies and academic delivery systems Knowledge of supporting student success Ability to manage and supervise a diverse staff Strong management skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams Commitment to professional development, continuous learning, and improvement Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Creative thinker and problem solver Attention to detail Advanced project management skills Basic Blackboard or equivalent program skills Intermediate Banner skills Intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to set goals and determine actions to achieve results Ability to handle sensitive matters with privacy and discretion Ability to facilitate collaboration while managing sensitive issues Ability to develop and maintain relationships to enhance workflow Sensitivity to respond to community needs Competencies Critical Competencies: Collaboration, Adaptability, Quality of Work Very Important Competencies: Service Focus, Communications Important Competencies: Time Utilization, Continuous Improvement Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in a related field Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Target Starting Salary Range:
$95,000 to $105,000. The final offer will be based on internal equity, budget, and qualifications. Special Note:
