Provides comprehensive clinical and administrative leadership for all children's mental health programs at South Mississippi Mental Health Center. This senior leadership role oversees the Making a Plan (MAP), Children's Therapy, and Day Treatment programs, with direct supervision of Childrens Services Supervisor and indirect oversight of all children's services staff. The Director ensures compliance with DMH standards, manages program budgets, implements evidence-based practices, and maintains quality service delivery across all children's mental health programs. This position requires a licensed mental health professional with clinical supervision credentials, at least four years of clinical experience in children's mental health, and two years of supervisory experience. The Director serves as the agency's representative in community partnerships and collaborates with different departments to provide integrated, developmentally appropriate services for children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance. Provides administrative and clinical oversight of all Children's Outpatient Services including Therapy, Making A Plan (MAP), and Day Treatment programs. May provide direct clinical care as needed to support the treatment needs of children and adolescent clients referred for care. Ensures all children's programs maintain compliance with DMH standards and agency policies. Develops and implements strategic plans for children service programs in collaboration with the Clinical Director. Monitors program metrics, outcomes, and quality improvement initiatives across all Children's Outpatient Services. Maintains client confidentiality and ensures all supervised staff adhere to confidentiality requirements. Reviews and approves service delivery processes, protocols, and documentation standards for Children's Outpatient Services. Oversees and monitors program budgets in conjunction with finance department. Conducts regular meetings with program supervisors to coordinate service delivery. Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated service delivery. Participates in leadership team meetings and contributes to agency-wide strategic planning. Provides performance evaluations for directly supervised staff. Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of qualified staff. Represents the agency in community meetings and interagency collaborations related to children's mental health. Coordinates with Making A Plan (MAP) services to ensure comprehensive treatment planning for children and families. Serves as lead or back-up emergency on-call person when necessary. Manages crisis response protocols for Children's Outpatient Services. Identifies and implements best practices and evidence-based interventions across Children's Outpatient Services. Coordinates with schools, child welfare agencies, and juvenile justice systems to ensure comprehensive care. Ensures age-appropriate and developmentally sensitive approaches in all Children's Outpatient Services programs. Completes additional administrative duties as assigned by Clinical Director. Experience & Education

Required Master's degree or Doctorate in behavioral science or related field. Current clinical licensure in the State of Mississippi. Minimum of four years of clinical experience in a children's mental health setting required. Previous management experience in behavioral health setting required. Experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance (SED) required. Licensed mental health professional (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD, or PsyD) with clinical supervision credentials. Minimum of four years clinical experience in children's mental health setting. Minimum of two years supervisory or administrative experience. Comprehensive knowledge of DMH standards and regulations related to children's services. Experience with program development, implementation, and evaluation. Understanding financial management and budgeting principles. Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record systems. Knowledge of child development and family systems approaches. Experience with trauma-informed care for children and adolescents. Familiarity with IEP processes and school-based mental health services. Satisfactory completion of CPR prior to reporting to the work site. Satisfactory completion of CPI within 30 days of employment. Valid driver's license and current auto liability insurance. Thorough knowledge of DSM and evidence-based practices for child and adolescent mental health. Completion of annual training in compliance with DMH standards. How to Apply
