Structures/Loads Engineer

Cimarron and Watring are seeking a Structures/Loads Engineer to support work with NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) program. This role focuses on engineering services for CS3 dynamic model verification, structural fatigue spectra development, and secondary structure loads development. You'll work closely with Boeing, NASA, and program stakeholders to ensure critical structural analyses meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements. The selected candidate for this position can work on-site at one of the following NASA locations: Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, LA, Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, or Kennedy Space Center in Titusville, FL. Key Duties: Provide engineering services to support CS3 dynamic model verification, structural fatigue spectra development, and secondary structure loads development. Build CS3 integrated models representing modal test set-ups, perform analyses, and calculate verification metrics (MAC and cross orthogonality matrices). Generate spectra-specific OTM, process CLA time history data, and combine low/high frequency spectra for fatigue analysis. Generate or modify FEM models for base drive, perform random response analysis, and combine CLA data with random response results. Document verification efforts, spectra development, and secondary structure loads development. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project management system entries and reports, including weekly Funds and Man-Hour Expenditure Reports. Prepare and maintain Supplier Personnel Listings, ensuring updates for additions/deletions and verifying return of all issued equipment and badges. Participate in technical planning, architecture decisions, and integration with other engineering disciplines. Travel to Boeing and customer sites as required for program activities. Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. 5 or more years of related experience. Relevant structural engineering experience with finite element modeling, dynamic analysis, and loads development. Proficiency with relevant engineering software (FEM tools, analysis platforms). Strong technical documentation and reporting skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Willingness to travel as required. Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or a relevant technical field. Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: Familiarity with SLS program requirements and NASA technical standards. Advanced skills in developing and modifying FEM models. Experience working in a controlled, high-security aerospace environment. Strong understanding of aerospace structural verification processes.
