Regional Materials Manager

We are hiring a Regional Materials Manager for the Mid-Central Region at Carterville, IL. Essential Duties: Establishes and monitors material levels for assigned services Americas locations. Responsible to aide in supplier optimization Develop standard operating procedure (SOP) in accordance with systems Maintain source system data including but not limited to lead times, preferred supplier, unit cost, etc Aide in the roll-out and utilization of inventory management system Act as liaison between branch operations and materials to drive best in class business practices Ensure purchase orders are placed efficiently and followed/expedited to ensure on time delivery to meet customer order requirements. Maintain good business relationships with suppliers through regular communication. Ensure that critical delivery needs, major contracts, material reject problems and other performance issues are communicated, discussed and resolved on a regular basis. Monitor raw material, WIP and finished goods for materials availability, financial tracking and in support of company goals. Works with operations leaders to resolve material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. Ensure Xylem complies with all Import and Export Compliance Policy and Procedures. Determine needs for new suppliers and plan the development of the same. Ensure Xylem contracted suppliers and Xylem preferred methods of procurement are used by all locations purchasing goods and services. Lead lean initiatives utilizing the ERP system to streamline the overall materials management process. Assist in developing and executing inventory cycle count processes to assure high inventory accuracies. Lead periodic physical inventory process. Assist with disposing of E&O materials. Maintain list of ACT owned assets at suppliers. Supervisory Responsibilities: Number of positions directly supervised 0 Number of positions indirectly/matrix supervised ~6+ Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree Minimum of 10 years of experience in materials planning and procurement Excellent communication and customer service skills Great attention to detail Good knowledge of electrical components and metal fabrications is a plus General working knowledge of computerized purchasing systems Great negotiation skills Experience with Word, Excel and Outlook applications. This role requires 30%40% travel to support operations across the states of Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota Specialized Knowledge Required: C.P.M or APICS certificate preferred VBLSS Greenbelt Certified ERP SAP System Expert Commercial Order Management Physical Demands: Light lifting (20-25 pounds), office environment Work Environment: Office: Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements.
