JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Dean is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of academic programs and student services. They oversee academic integrity, support faculty development in teaching and research, promote diversity and excellence among students, and lead curriculum and program development, implementation, evaluation, and accreditation. The role involves strategic planning, leadership in faculty and program development, and collaboration with the Dean and senior leadership. REPORTS TO:
Dean SALARY INFORMATION
The annual base salary range is $150,000 - $190,000, considering various factors such as experience and internal equity. Benefits are comprehensive; click here for details. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Develop the college's strategic agenda aligned with university goals. Consult with faculty and stakeholders to fulfill the college's mission and goals. Lead curricular innovations and accreditation efforts. Foster partnerships and inter-professional education. Secure external funding for academic initiatives. Meet regularly with faculty and program directors to monitor programs. Guide faculty in evidence-based teaching and oversee evaluations. Ensure accreditation and regulatory compliance, including reporting. Oversee nursing licensing and certification processes to improve pass rates.
REQUIREMENTS:
PhD in a relevant field. Research and scholarship sufficient for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Graduate degree in nursing (MSN or higher). NYS RN licensure or eligibility. NP certification preferred. At least four years of relevant academic nursing leadership experience. Excellent communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Experience with regulatory and licensure requirements.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors and masters degrees in nursing; doctorate in nursing or related field. Progressive leadership in nursing education and curriculum development. Experience with CCNE accreditation and online program leadership. Active participation in professional organizations. Commitment to diversity and experience with culturally diverse populations.
