The CNC Programmer is responsible for the creation and implementation of high quality CNC programs for operations in a production environment using various CAD/CAM and other software and models. Programs must be verified for accuracy and ready to be set up and proven out on the equipment. This role also supports the production floor with process improvement and tooling management to reduce costs. Responsibilities
Writes and/or modifies CNC programs and instruction sheets for multi-axis machined parts Monitors performance of programs after implementation and makes adjustments as needed Maintains program files and provides ongoing support for machining processes Assists in training operators on equipment and programs Assists in identifying and evaluating new tooling and fixture applications Sets up and operates machine on trial run (prove-out) to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed data Documents setup and operation details for each job Communicates effectively with manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, plant personnel, and external partners Continual programming of part families Completes other duties as assigned Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in CAD/CAM programming Experience as a level 3 machinist Proficiency with computer skills and electronic data management (Word, Excel, network file structure) Working knowledge of cutting tool geometry, speeds and feeds for materials used Working knowledge of trigonometry and mathematical formulas for machining processes Working knowledge of blueprint reading Working knowledge of geometric dimension and tolerance (GD&T) High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required Able to interact with operators, machinists, technical support, and management Experience with Esprit programming software Experience with SolidWorks software Preferred Qualifications
Two-year technical degree (preferred) 4-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred) Experience with multi-axis milling machines (preferred) Benefits
