Inventory Receiving Specialist
This position is responsible for performing the tasks involved in receiving, storing, and inventory control of merchandise in a retail bookstore environment. Verifying goods received against Purchase Orders (PO's), quality of logos and condition of goods and creating bins for final storage in warehouses. May also perform inventory control, including cycle count, data entry, report generation and reconciliation. Responsibilities: Verify accuracy of merchandise quantity, condition, and quality against Purchase Orders. Receive orders against P.O.s, input information into inventory system and put stock away in warehouse Manage inventory of product stored in the warehouse; ensure inventory accuracy Update computer system with appropriate information and notes concerning received merchandise Make timely & accurate system updates Qualifications: High school diploma/GED required Required Licensure: Valid driver's license with a positive point balance. Ability to safely drive a large box truck with lift gate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform, but not limited, to the following tasks: Be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips. Enter into the computer the correct information to acknowledge receipt of the goods from the purchase order/transfer order. Verify all vendor item numbers and retails are accurate in inventory system. Efficiently operate computers and proprietary software systems Microsoft Outlook and Word a must. Excel experience, a plus. Proficient typing skills a plus Requires heavy lifting (up to 60lbs.) Clean driving record. Drive and back up a large box truck with lift gate. Position requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching. This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Anticipated Hiring Range: $15.00 - $18.00 hourly, commensurate with education and experience.
