A leading engineering firm is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to oversee transportation infrastructure projects from planning through final design. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project delivery, and maintaining strong collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Lead concept design studies, including traffic analyses. Prepare and revise construction documents (plans, specifications, estimates), reports, and milestone deliverables. Manage design and environmental permitting processes. Mentor and coordinate junior engineers and technicians. Conduct quality control reviews of design plans, specifications, and estimates. Organize and manage the delivery of project plans and specifications. Collaborate with clients, utility companies, permitting agencies, and the public.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation design and project management. Experience with MDOT SHA and Maryland jurisdictions. Active PE license in Maryland (or ability to obtain a Virginia PE license within 6 months). Proficiency in: Traffic Engineering: Synchro, Vissim, Sidra Familiarity with permitting requirements for MDOT SHA and local government projects.
