As an Avionics Mechanical Engineer, you will work on designing the mechanical avionics components for Ursa's rocket engines as well as for Ursa's rocket engine test facility and numerous testing rigs. These components include both mechanical enclosures and harnesses for avionics hardware for engines and support equipment.Responsibilities:Design and manage 3D harness routing modelsCreate harness drawings and write work instructions for their assemblyDesign and develop enclosures for Avionics hardwareTrack and troubleshoot technical issues with harnesses and enclosuresDevelop and maintain processes and requirements for harnesses and enclosuresGenerate information for own peer reviews and peer review other electromechanical designsRequired Qualifications:Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering5+ years' experience with vehicle electrical systems.Knowledge of harness manufacturing techniques, component trades and testingKnowledge of electrical enclosure and harness design for harsh thermal and dynamic environments.Expertise in general 3D modeling and drawing creationExperience with FEA software (Ansys preferred)Experience performing vibration, shock and thermal analysesDesired Experience:Experience with wire harnessing design, fabrication, analysis and test.Experience designing and analyzing electronic enclosuresMaterials and process validationProduct and Bill of Materials (BOM) managementExperience with NXExperience with VisioExperience with Python scriptingAbility to read and generate electrical schematicsExperience analyzing electrical designs.Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $115,000 - $130,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
