Sovah Health Security Department is team player whose primary mission is the safety and security for the Sovah-Health Hospital. Position will have every other weekend off.
How youll contribute A Security Officer II who excels in this role: Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats. Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises. Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. Facilitates planned drills and simulations. Provides information and assistance to patients, staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises Officers will complete 2 complete patrols of facility, including roof structures, parking lots, and adjacent structures, per 8 hour shift unless priority requires deviation and then it should be documented in the Security Report. Officers will complete a detailed and accurate shift report before leaving Officers will assist nursing staff with combative or disruptive patients, up to and including the application of restraints if directed by Nursing Supervisor. Officers will respond to all calls for emergency assistance. Officers will work with Nursing Supervisors to secure and process patient valuables. Officers will conduct safety inspections of assigned areas. Officers will conduct fire extinguisher inspections as assigned. Officers will secure helipad for the arrival and departure of helicopters and complete a report. Officers will assist employees with access badge issues.

Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities. Qualifications: What were looking for The right candidate will provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Duties include general patrolling, documentation of an event occurring during work, assisting medical staff with combative patients and visitors. Security officers will maintain the recording of all CCTV cameras and operate the in-house access control system. Security will also be responsible for the securing and distribution of patient valuables. Security will assist Facilities Mgmt. with light maintenance during off hours, this shall include, but not be limited to, changing light bulbs, adjusting heating/cooling, and obtaining equipment readings and some preventive maintenance assignments. Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include: American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider (BLS) required within 60 days from date of hire Must complete a Behavioral Management Training program within 90 days from date of hire.
