Job Title: Patient Service Coordinator - General Surgery (3-Month Contract)Location: Clinton, MarylandSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMContract Length: 3 Months (Open-ended, potential for extension)Experience Level: Entry LevelJob Description:We are seeking a professional, reliable, and empathetic Front Desk Receptionist to join a busy outpatient General Surgery practice in Clinton, MD. This is a critical customer-facing role focused on patient check-in/check-out, registration, and medical records support. You will be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment.Responsibilities:Greet and check in patients with warmth and professionalismRegister new patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance informationCollect co-pays and verify insurance coverageReschedule follow-up appointments as neededManage patient check-out and ensure proper documentationHandle medical records requests and updatesMaintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentialityProvide empathetic support to patients, understanding their needs and concernsCollaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flowRequired Skills & Qualifications:1-3 years of medical office or customer service experience preferredStrong customer service focus and ability to remain calm and empatheticComputer proficiency required (Microsoft Word, Excel, EMR systems)Experience with EMR systems and IDX is a plusAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasksProfessional demeanor and excellent communication skillsOpen to candidates with strong customer service backgrounds outside healthcareTeam Structure:Fully staffed team includes 2 front desk professionalsThis role fills a vacancy and is part of a supportive, collaborative teamPay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
