Job Title:Information Technology Systems Network Administrator Location:Information Technology Job Group:Support Staff, Non-Union Pay Level:Exempt, PG 35 Reports To:Information Technology Systems Director Summary: General responsibility for the administration of the district's network server core; coordinates with IT Systems Engineers to maintain, support, procure, and deploy the server core. Assists in the overall network design, implementation, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure; and district sanctioned hardware and software. Works closely with Special Educators to ensure effective implementation and support of assistive technology. Negotiates pricing and procures district approved technology. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other job duties may be assigned. Manages assigned tasks and special projects associated with the district's network infrastructure, software, computers, and technological applications such as: Maintaining Google Workspace and ChromeOS deployment and configuration and maintaining User/Group synchronization between Active Directory and some cloud platforms (e.g. Google Workspace) Maintains printing software and services. Manages System Deployment Appliance and tasks (e.g. K2000 SDA) Creates and maintains multiple Windows OS images and versions. Create and maintain software packages to deploy. Maintains the SDA appliance Manages System Management Appliance and tasks (e.g. K1000 SMA) Maintains remote support software for the IT Team (e.g. TeamViewer). Creates and maintains software deployments, scripts, and package distribution. Maintains the integrity of the Technology Inventory system. Create and maintain Group Policies as necessary. Installing and configuring network software applications as needed. Creating and automating new user accounts. Assists with maintaining District Security Camera Systems and security camera requests. Collaborates with the IT Systems Engineers to Maintain a disaster recovery plan and daily backup solution for all of the district servers and file storage. Evaluate, purchase, and maintain the district's firewall, internet connectivity and the district's internet content filter. Actively participate in the IT team project and service planning. Supports the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all network services, projects, and responsibilities. Maintain a comprehensive schedule of work to be done on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Serve as backup to Systems Engineers as needed. Assists district users by troubleshooting technology issues and works to provide resolution with district technology and computers. Supports walk-ins and provides level 2 support to the help desk as needed. Under the director of the IT Systems Director, oversees the district-wide hardware/software procurement planning and process such as: Developing, evaluating and maintaining standards for acquisition, maintenance, and training of district technologies. Reviewing district-wide hardware/software procurement requests, researching appropriate solutions, and purchases as needed. Working with vendors for pricing and procurement of technology and software. Ensuring proper licensure of software programs and server licenses. Determining the proper number of teacher and student devices and supporting hardware/software for use in the 1:1 program. Procures the necessary items and maintains required records. Recommends changes to improve computer, network, software, and support operating efficiency. Works closely with Special Education to ensure effective implementation and support of hardware and software for their students and staff. Remains current on career-related subject matter by: Attending professional meetings and conferences related to information technology, curriculum integration, and related subject matter. Reading professional literature and other sources to maintain a high level of expertise in technology integration. Researching emerging technology and integration of such (e.g., hardware, software, and peripherals) and recommends applications, enhancements, and solutions. Remaining current with district hardware and software in use including, but not limited to: NEO, Chrome books, and Microsoft products. Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' previous experience with computers and networking concepts. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate high aptitude for technology systems management in a multi-site, team-oriented environment. Previous teaching experience helpful. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Google Cloud, MCSE, RHCE, CCNA, VCP, or equivalent licensures/experience preferred. Language Skills: Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with basic to advanced mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction and multiplication to probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Other Skills and Abilities: Experience with Apple operating systems to support Special Ed student IEP related iPads. Working knowledge of Microsoft, Google, and data systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board policies. Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule.
