We offer a complete line of propulsion products for launch vehicles, missile defense, and advanced hypersonic propulsion. At this location produce and develop a variety of energetic assemblies for rocket propulsion. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Manufacturing Engineering Intern with a background in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other engineering discipline to join our Manufacturing Strategy and Growth team located in Huntsville Alabama. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply your engineering skills in a real-world manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a creative individual with strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for developing innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. Utilize engineering principles from aerospace and mechanical engineering to solve complex manufacturing challenges. Conduct research and analysis to support the development of new manufacturing technologies and techniques. Participate in the creation and implementation of process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues to ensure smooth production operations. Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Support the implementation of safety and quality standards in the manufacturing environment. Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in an Engineering discipline and be returning to school upon completion of the assignment. Preferred Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and generate innovative ideas. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Catia or NX) and other engineering tools. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Passion for continuous learning and professional development. Previous internship or project experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
