Job Type Full-timeDescriptionProduction Scheduler ("Production Scheduler")Position Summary: Under the direction of the Operations and Analysis Manager, the Production Scheduler plans, and establishes production schedules to meet customer demands. He/she will develop short range (daily, weekly, monthly) production schedules in accordance with the Monthly Production Plan which provides a long-term view of sales forecasts, inventory build/consumption forecasts, plant and employee capacity and new business opportunities. The Production Planner is responsible for developing effective scheduling processes and continuously improving such processes to achieve production and financial objectives. This role requires full-time, on-site presence At this time, we are unable to offer relocation assistance or visa sponsorship for this role. Position Description Responsibilities Coordinates with production tech team and finance teams to develop and maintain scheduling parameters (feed rates and yields)Determines and sets the daily, weekly, monthly manufacturing schedule; executes the production plan via the Production MTD ScreenAttends and reports out in the Daily Production Meeting to ensure organization is aligned with production goalsReviews production specifications, identifies and reports plant capacity constraintsProvides timely planning, coordination, and scheduling of production to achieve customer delivery dates, inventory goals and internal financial goalsMonitors workflow and schedule to ensure on-time delivery; coordinates with Logistics Ops Mgr. and Planning and Analysis Mgr. to actively adjust schedules in response to changing conditions and constraints; communicates to plant operations all changesNotifies Supply Chain Director, Sales and Customer Service of any schedule impacts to customersIdentifies opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiencies through more effective schedule management and processes to eliminate redundant work and downtime Works with Strategic Purchasing Mgr. to avoid any raw material shortagesGenerates production reports to Managers for critical decision-making purposesFill in for Logistics Coordinator as neededOther duties as assignedRequirementsSkills & Qualifications Knowledge of activated carbon production and processing including knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, logistics and costs Ability to interact well with internal and external customersStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think criticallyStrong math and computer skillsAdvanced proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPointExcellent verbal communication and business writing skillsAbility to use process improvement techniques to identify and correct performance inefficienciesAbility to successfully identify root cause and utilize a variety of techniques to solve a variety of problems quickly and effectivelyAbility to think critically Education & Experience High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates or bachelor's degree preferred2-4 years' experience in manufacturing plant required, preferably specialty chemicals manufacturingFamiliarity with large scale batch processing requiredExperience with ERP and MRP systems required, NetSuite preferredSalary Description $67,000-$78,000
