AG Consulting Engineering, PC (AG), a design, engineering, and construction management firm headquartered in New York is looking for a Resident Engineer with experience working with the Department of Environmental (DEP). Position: Resident Engineer Location: Shokan, New York Project: DEP Project - Catskill Aqueduct Chambers Scope of work: Construction management services for the rehabilitation of five (5) Catskill Aqueduct Chambers. Rondout Drainage Chamber Wallkill Drainage Chamber Hunter Brook North Siphon Chamber Croton Lake Downtake Chamber Harlem RR North Siphon Chamber These five (5) Catskill Aqueduct Chambers are part of the upper section of the Catskill aqueduct from Ashokan Reservoir to Kensico Reservoir. The general scope of the chambers' construction work includes general repair of the superstructures, repair of structural and architectural features, site improvements, removal and replacement of the existing roof system, removal of hazardous materials, equipment rehabilitation, and installation of solar power service for security equipment and electrical circuits for powering the sites with portable generators. Responsibilities: The Resident Engineer (RE) provides all services necessary and required for inspection, supervision, management, coordination, and administration of the Project. The RE supervises the work of the construction contractor to ensure that work is properly executed, completed in a timely fashion and conforms to the requirements of the construction documents and to good construction practice from NTP through the Close-Out phase. The RE is situated at the work location and is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the CM field staff. The RE reviews contractor submittals for quality, compliance, and completeness prior to forwarding to the Engineer-of-Record. The RE provides technical support and guidance on all issues and leads the communication and outreach efforts for the project. Qualifications: BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required. NYS Professional Engineering License is required. Minimum 10 years' related experience in any of the following areas: Water systems, tunneling construction or bridge rehabilitation and new construction or wastewater construction experience is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong people skills. The ability to clearly and effectively present information to clients, other staff, and management. Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products. A.G.
